Knight's Hideaway Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't see the answer to your questions below, please feel free to reach out to us. We are always happy to help!

What is your Cancellation policy?

To get a refund of your deposit you must cancel seven days before your arrival date.

Rental units require 14 days notice.

What time is check-in and check-out?

You can check-in any time after 1pm. Check-out is any time before 11am.

Early check-in or late-check-out may be available for a fee.

Can I bring my own firewood?

The answer is No. Firewood moved from one area to another can bring insects and disease to our trees.

Locally sourced wood is available in the store at a reasonable price.

Can I have visitors?

As long as it is not on a holiday weekend, you can have a few people come in to visit you when the Store is open.

Visitors must sign in at the Office, pay a fee, and get a Visitor tag to display on their vehicle. Visitors can use all the facilities except the swimming pool and must leave before 9pm.

Can I bring pets?

Well behaved pets are welcome. We ask that you keep them on a leash, and keep them quiet, so as not to annoy other campers. Poop and scoop applies everywhere on the campground.

Can I play and enjoy my music anytime?

We have Quiet Hours between 11pm and 8am. That is when most campers like to sleep.

During these night hours voices and laughter must also be kept low. You can have your radio or music on, so long as it cannot be heard outside of your camper. So if you have canvas walls, it has to be off.

So, I can play music during the day?

You can, as long as it is not too loud. Your neighbours will prefer their own music to yours. The most complaints any campground gets is “my neighbour is too noisy”. Be considerate of others.

Can the rental bicycles go off the campground?

Bicycles can be used on the campground or many roads and trails around here. Bicycles are road ready but do not have lights, so must be returned before sunset. Helmets are provided.

Can I connect to the internet?

Free Wi-FI for all your devices, is available at your site. The Store/Pavilion area has 5g wireless connection and the Back Room at the Store has a  PC you can use.

Internet speed will vary as it depends on how many people are connected to the same access point and what they are downloading.

Do not download copyrighted material.

How many people can be on a site?

You can have 6 people on a site, with a maximum of 4 adults.

A site is for a family of 2 adults and 4 children. Extra charge for more adults.

How many tents can be on a site?

Two sleeping tents and one dining tent is allowed on tent sites.

Only a dining tent is allowed on RV Trailer sites.

What is the POST Promise, and why is it important?

The POST Promise signifies a commitment to implement and practice the five key steps to workplace safety, helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The business is taking part in a collective solution designed to help Canadians confidently and safely enter into public spaces and the workplace.

What is what3words?

what3words has divided the globe into 3m squares and given each one a unique three word identifier.

It means any precise location can be communicated with just three words.

For example ///tables.moss.mods is one address for the entrance to Knight’s Hide-Away Park.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has announced in December 2020 it will be using what3words.

When a caller using the what3words app contacts the OPP, the OPP officers can quickly find the exact location of the person in need.

Other emergency services in Canada are starting to use what3words app.

Soon, when a medical emergency occurs in the campground, your what3words location will get the ambulance directly to you. No map needed.

As well as the free app for iOS and Android, what3words is available online at map.what3words.com.
